Nassarawa Records New Cases of Lassa Fever

New cases of Lassa fever have been recorded at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital DASH, Lafia Nassarawa State capital, with two of the patients who have been confirmed by the hospital authorities already on admission at the hospital.

Dr. Daniel Iya, the state commissioner for health confirmed to newsmen at a press conference yesterday, stating that a 34 year old man and an 18 year old student were victims and were brought to the hospital on December last year.

He also stated that the state government had commenced awareness campaigns to inform the general public on the dangers of this disease.

He also called the general public to remain calm and avoid panic as the disease was not airborne.
