From a medical outreach which was organized by Rotary Club of Nigeria, District 401, and facilitated by a Counsellor Aspirant for Ward F2, Hon. Diyaolu Adeola Olaolu, no fewer than 200 persons residing in Ilasamaja area of Lagos and its environs have benefited.
Converging the area was a team of medical experts who amongst others, carried tests primarily for malaria and high blood pressure. Insecticide treated nets were also distributed during the outreach. The Chairman, Ward F2, Mutairu who was one of the beneficiaries, attested to the quality of the services rendered and described it as a divine intervention.
The event facilitator, Olaolu, speaking, called on government at all levels to give priority to health as a healthy community is a developed community.
He also stated that the programme which targeted over 200 people, was part of Rotary’s project for the year.
It is a health enlightenment programme on malaria awareness. Free tests for malaria and high blood pressure are also being conducted. Also, we are distributing insecticide treated nets but the main target audience are pregnant women and nursing mothers due to the effects of the disease on them.” – he said.
