Here’s How You Can Get Rid of Stretch Marks With Sugar

Stretch marks are those visibly ugly lines on certain parts of the body that could be really embarrassing and even make you feel self-conscious and shy especially when exposed.

Stretch marks develop when the skin suddenly needs to stretch beyond the limits of its natural growth rate like weight gain, rapid increase in muscle mass, or extreme weight loss.

The skin is made up of 3 layers; outer, middle and inner. Stretch marks develop from the middle layer when the connective tissue is stretched beyond natural elastic limit due to rapid expansion or contraction of the skin which weakens the collagen leading to an interruption in its normal production cycle.

Although, stretch marks are not harmful but they are somewhat embarrassing and can be difficult to get rid of quickly (except via surgery, which might eventually lead to sagging skin).

However, with a few natural remedies like the sugar remedy, they can be erased from the skin within the space of days/weeks.

Sugar among many other home remedies for getting rid of stretch marks is a natural skin exfoliant (a substance that rubs away dead cells to rejuvenate your skin) cells which usually accumulate on the stretch marks.

Getting rid of stretch marks with sugar can be done by mixing a couple of other ingredients with sugar.

Here are 3 ways you can get rid of those stretch marks using sugar.

  1. Sugar and lemon

Lemon, which is rich in astringent properties, helps to increase of collagen production and elasticity of the skin.

Mix a tablespoon of raw sugar with some almond oil (or coconut oil or olive oil) and a few drops of lemon juice. Mix it well and gently apply it on the areas affected and other skin areas.

Leave the mixture for about 10 minutes or more before washing it off. Do it for about a month and notice how the stretch marks becomes light and fades out.

  1. Sugar and honey

    stretch marks

Honey helps the skin retain the moisture content and also tightens the sagged skin.

Mix equal amounts of olive oil, sugar and honey in a bowl.

Gently massage the affected areas with the mixture, leave for 10 minutes and wash off.

  1. Sugar and coffee
