3 Natural Ways To Get Sparkling White Teeth

Clean, white teeth are something we all desire to have especially when we have to open them up to form a big wide smile.

But when it comes to having those beautiful sets of sparkling white teeth, we just don’t seem to be lucky to be a part of the few with it. Why?

First, there are a couple of factors responsible for white teeth most of which is as a result of the food we eat.

Certain food can stain the enamel (the outer layer of the teeth) causing them to look yellow. Plaque buildup on the teeth can also cause brown/yellow coloration on the teeth or due to certain factors, the enamel can be eroded, exposing the dentin (a naturally yellow, bony tissue that lies underneath the enamel) underneath.

Anyway, irrespective of which factor is responsible for your yellow teeth. These natural remedies will help you get the sparkling white teeth you desire.

1. Oil pulling

The concept of oil pulling is swishing oil (like coconut) in the mouth for 20 minutes to help remove plaque and bacteria from the mouth.

Coconut oil is a good choice because it has a pleasant taste and offers many additional health benefits.

Studies have, however, shown that daily oil pulling effectively reduces bacteria in the mouth, along with plaque and gingivitis.

So, practicing this daily before brushing your teeth can help whiten teeth.

2. Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is a natural disinfectant and cleanser.

ACV contains antibacterial which makes it useful for cleaning your mouth and whitening your teeth.

According to a study performed on cow teeth, it was discovered that apple cider vinegar has a bleaching effect on teeth. However, because of the active ingredient (acetic acid) in ACV, it is advisable to minimize the number of times it comes in contact with the teeth to avoid eroding the enamel.

3. Brush with baking soda

Not only does baking soda help you achieve your white teeth dreams by removing stains on the teeth due to its abrasive properties, it also creates an alkaline environment in your mouth, which helps prevents the growth of bacteria.

Mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda with 2 teaspoons of water and brush your teeth with the paste every other day.
