Health workers under the support of the Nigerian Union of Allied Health Professionals (NUAHP) have threatened to embark on an indefinite industrial action if the Federal Government of Nigeria fails to address its demands by 27th of February, 2017.
The union comprises of dietitians, health information managers, dental technologists, medical lab scientists, occupational therapists, dental technologists, physiotherapists, pharmacists and other related health professionals aside doctors and nurses.
However, speaking during a protest organised by the union yesterday in Abuja, President of NUAHP, Comrade Ogbonna Obinna said the union had earlier on given the Federal Ministry of Health a-30 day-ultimatum but had not yet received any invitation till date.
He added that the union had only restrained its members till now because of the effect industrial actions have on the general masses or public.
What effect do you think another strike action would have on the health sector?
