Shaken baby syndrome (SBS) is a form of abusive head trauma that results from shaking a baby violently. In most instances, parents or caregivers shake their babies hard when they cannot stop them from crying or when the child does not do what is expected of him/her. Some parents even shake their babies hard to see them laugh. Studies have shown that this causes serious harm. You should not shake your baby under any circumstance.
