Nigerian Medic Designs Novel Ventilator

Set to be launched in Lagos is a prototype of an innovative portable, battery-powered ventilator which has been designed to help unconscious patients breathe.

This novel medical device was manufactured in Canada by the CEO of LigandCorp, Dayo Olaakulehin who has had an idea for a medical device that could potentially save lives.

 This innovation is a critical device that will significantly reduce infant and adult mortality rate and perhaps, the best thing to happen to resuscitation care in our environment – the head of the Emergency Department at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH described.

Before founding LigandCorp, Dayo and his team worked together for four months to develop this affordable device.

The innovation is expected to cost $300 a piece.

The launch of this outstanding innovation is said to take place on Thursday, January 14th, 2016 at The Incubator, City of David in Dideolu Estate, Victoria Island, Lagos.
