Why do we need to detox? That should be the first question on your mind.

Well, when you detox, you get rid of toxins (substances that are poisonous to the body) in your system.

Although the body has its own way of getting rid of toxins via the excretory system like defecation and urination, eliminating toxins through the kidneys, intestines, lungs, lymphatic system, and skin, (when you sweat). However, when these systems are compromised, impurities aren’t properly filtered and the body is adversely affected. Hence the need to detox in order to flush out these toxins more effectively.

Start your day with a glass of water mixed with lemon juice or cucumber (optional).

Water is almost the most valuable tool when it comes to detoxification. This is because the body’s most basic functions require water. For instance, your body needs water to produce saliva, help with perspiration, and remove waste from the body.

Taking a lot of water (not just in the morning, but all day long) will help the flow of these toxins out of the body.

2. Drink green tea or any other herbal teas

Plants and veggies are rich n vitamins and minerals which helps detox the body. They also contain enzymes that aid digestion and improve nutrient absorption.

For instance, fruits like oranges and the like (rich in Vitamin C) helps the body produce glutathione, a liver compound that drives away toxins.

Dedicating a day or two every once in a while for fruits and veggies only isn’t such a bad idea to achieve the body detox you want.

4. Exercise more often to detox

When you exercise, you sweat and when you sweat, you release little amounts of toxins from the body.

Studies have found trace amounts of arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury in sweat. Which means that, by merely exercising, you’re getting rid of toxins from your body (detox).
